RDM: Favorite Vault change

With 2025.1.26.0 the Problem still exists:

We need urgently a Hotfix for this because most of our Employees are working with hundrets of Servers from different Vaults in theyre Favorites!

Odd, let me double check. The fix has passed QA and was approved. I will need to investigate.

What are the exact steps that gives you this? Maybe I forgot to test a scenario.

Simply try to open a Session via Favorite from another Vault which is currently not active/opened.

My bad, I had fixed 2 of the 3 actions.

These actions are already working

• Switch vault
• Select entry in navigation pane

For now as a work around you can hit Switch vault then Open session

Failed

• Select and open
  • I've fixed it now

I also added a system option (hidden/No-UI) that you can toggle that will disable the vault focus when doing Select and open. See video, if want it enabled. File > Settings > while holding ctrl + alt + shift, type noui, find the FavoriteFocusEntryOnSelectAndOpen setting and set the value to False, save & save.

And many thanks for the FavoriteFocusEntryOnSelectAndOpen Setting. Would be great if you can add it (and many more Settings) for GPO Deployment.

Btw, is there still no way except XML modding the local config file for several RDM settings?

We’re building a new version today, followed by QA validation and acceptance. So it should be ready soon, but there’s no official ETA available yet.

As for the setting, it’s a temporary one. In the future, the Favorites tab will be able to perform all the same actions as the Vault tab, with the addition of actions like Switch vault and Select entry in navigation pane, for example. This should allow for a more seamless experience in the Favorites tab, less limitations. The details haven’t been fully ironed out yet, but you get the idea.

You're right—most older (and some newer) settings don’t have a corresponding GPO. We’ve added a few in the past, and when new ones are created, we usually ask ourselves if it would be useful to have a GPO. Sometimes we get it wrong. In theory, we could add them all, but then we’d also need to document everything, which takes time. So for the most part, we add the GPO (for older settings) if/when a client specifically requests it. I hope that makes sense.

I just noticed that the new RDM Version was released and tested it.
But the Problem still exists:


Pressing first the "Switch vault" button then im able to open the Connection:

This is really starting to frustrate the whole company. Can someone please implement immediately a definitive bugfix for this?

Are you double-clicking on the entry? All three menus are functional, but we've identified that double-clicking does currently fail.

The good news is a fix has already been completed and will be included in the next release.

Version 2025.1 introduces significant changes to the codebase, enabling us to deliver new features and enhance existing ones. However, these improvements have also introduced some instability and regressions (multi-vault search & favorites for example). Please know that we're actively working to resolve these issues as quickly as possible.

I have now installed 2025.1.29.0 and tested it.
And it seems, that the Problem is still there - now with an additional Error Message.
Doubleclick on the Favorite Sesssion still shows the error:

But now after clicking on ok, RDM switches to Vault Navigation and select the Entry and shows the same error again:

To be honest, i dont understand it why this bug needs 4 releases to get fixed.

I understand your frustration.

I’m unfortunately out of the office for the next two days (the entire company actually).

I’m thinking the issue might be due to timing. Could you please try a favorite that’s in a small vault?

Also is caching/offline enabled?

Offline/Cache is completely disabled on our side.
Ive just tested with a Test Vault which only contains 10 Entries.
I have the same behaviour also here.

So I've fixed the enter (key) action and the double-click action.

Along with the other three buttons/actions (Select and open, Switch vault & Select entry in navigation pane) all should be working now.

The attached video shows all actions working. The order tested: double-click, Switch vault, enter (key), Select and open & Select entry in navigation pane)

I hope I didn't, once again, miss a scenario.

The latest release of RDM 2025.1.30.0 fixed our issue with double clicking the entries in the favorite section that are in other vaults.
