RDM - Search Host field in sessions

Where exactly are you looking for this feature?

We already support it in the search bar as long as you activate the settings for it (see screenshot below).



We also allow it in the advanced search where you can specify multiple conditions. You can find the advanced search in the view ribbon -> Search -> Advanced Search

We indeed do not support searching on some item properties using the treeview's search while having the "All vaults" option activated.

If you wish to do so, you will have to uncheck the "All vaults" mode and only search in the current vault.

Would this be fine for you or is it a necessity in your use case to be able to search your host across all vaults?

Because of performance issue, we have seen the necessity of splitting our customers vault into 5 separate vaults.
So yes, it would be nice to be able to filter on the host field over all vaults.
And generally, I don't want to enable/disable the all vaults option at every search I do, or need to remember in which vault I am, switch vault, and search. A search should be general. That's what it's intended for in our view.

The reason this is not possible is because until version 2025.1, we only had the data of one vault at a time. However, we have recently done a lot of changes to the backend of our code to enhance our multi vault capabilities.

I believe we should now be able to add this feature to RDM.

I will open a feature ticket for this request and we will keep you updated on any progress.
