2024.3.28.0 64-bit crashes when attempting to connect to RDP session

avatar

I just upgraded to 2024.3.28.0 64-bit from 2024.3.26.0 64-bit and now whenever I try to connect to any RDP sessions, it would hard lock for about half a minute before the Remote Desktop Manager just disappears (crashes).

It works fine if I use Quick connect.

Also noticed it does the same thing when I try to do an Active Directory sync.

While RDM becomes unresponsive for a bit, I also noticed the rest of my computer does the same. If I go ahead and start typing in Notepad, for example, keystrokes are slow to appear until RDM crashes and closes out on its own.

This is resolved:

  1. Close RDM.
  2. Navigate to %localappdata%\Devolutions.
  3. Rename the folder "RemoteDesktopManager" to "RemoteDesktopManager.old".
  4. Start RDM.
  5. Connect to your data source.
  6. Test it again.
