RDP Session "Current work area size" not respected when set as default

RDP Session "Current work area size" not respected when set as default

Hi,

RDM version 2024.3.17.0 (64-bit), on Windows 11 24H2. The configurations for the most part are the default/out-of-the-box settings, except for what is described below:

In Settings > Entry types > Sessions > Remote Desktop (RDP), I am modifying the defaults for the following:

  1. Screen sizing mode: Smart sizing
  2. Display mode: Configured
  3. Remote desktop size: Current work area size

Then, on my RDP Session entries, most things are default, with the Display set to Undocked/Default/Current desktop. When I launch these sessions, they do not start in "work area size". I can right-click the title-bar of the undocked window and select "Work area screen", and it then displays as expected.

Alternatively, if I go to the RDP Session Display properties, and change the following, it works as expected, and launches straight into the "Work area screen" sizing the same as right-clicking the title-bar of the undocked window above:

  • Remote desktop size: Default (Current work area size)

to:

  • Remote desktop size: Current work area size

This was working when set as default in RDM 2024.3.13.0 (64-bit) on Windows 11 22H2.
