Automatic form filling no longer works reliably

Since the last update, the automatic completion of web forms (loginscreens) no longer works reliably or at all. However, if you click on the “Fill in now” button at the top left, it works almost flawlessly.

Hello,

Could you try configuring your website entry to have an autofill delay? For example, try with 2000 ms:

If it doesn't work you could try a higher value.

I tried this yesterday after the update, even with 5000ms. Unfortunately, this did not bring any change.

Is the website you're using publicly accessible? If so, could you tell us what it is? It'll be very helpful for us to reproduce in our environment so we can better understand what is handled incorrectly.

Many of the websites are not publicly accessible, but Microsoft 365, for example, does not work either.

Hello,

On my end it correctly autofills for https://login.microsoftonline.com, as long as an appropriate delay is configured (in my case, 5000 worked but it could have been reduced).
For the private websites, it will be hard to diagnose if we're not able to access them on our end. The fact that the 'key' button for the manual autofill works means that RDM is able to autofill the fields, just that the timing is wrong for an unknown reason. What tends to be the cause is the configured page redirecting to another, or a website's initial load not containing the controls and its second load having them. Maybe this is the case for your private websites.

At the moment it might be possible for you to work around this issue if you enable the option "Force deprecated Chrome web browser integration" in File > Settings > Entry types > Sessions > Websites:

Please keep in mind that this option is planned to be removed for our 2025.1 release early next year so it shouldn't be considered a permanent solution.

Hubert Mireault
