Good day,
According to the article below, Devolutions has its own VNC client called FreeVNC. Is there also a Devolutions VNC server option that can be installed and used to connect to remote machines?

Hello
Thanks for the inquiry! For a time we did offer a remote desktop server running under our own protocol (Wayk) but that product has been deprecated a few years ago. Our focus now is on building the best integrations around existing protocols. Offering our own VNC server isn't on the cards currently, there are many excellent commercial and open source VNC servers; if you wanted to share your specific requirements (e.g. server operating system(s), required features) we could make some recommendations.
As an interesting side-note, there does exist a FreeVNC server, but it's mainly used for testing and development and it would be a significant engineering effort to make that into a real product.
I hope it helps, if you have further questions or comments please don't hesitate to post back
Kind regards,
Richard Markievicz
There is a VNC server that is the default for Raspberry Pi devices called WayVNC. It doesn''t work when trying to connect via Devolutions RDM, but other VNC clients like RealVNC work fine. Any thoughts on how to resolve this? Goal is to have a VNC connection supporting X11 in embedded RDM windows.
Hello
WayVNC should work; actually we've fixed some issues with certain authentication types recently - please make sure you're using a recent version of RDM (2024.3.x).
Assuming you still can't connect, please can you post the contents of your wayvnc config file and also some screenshots of the VNC session configuration in RDM (obfuscating any sensitive information). It's possible that you're hitting an issue we haven't seen yet, but I have a working WayVNC configuration here and I'm confident we'll be able to resolve the problem.
Please let me know if you have some questions or something isn't clear
Kind regards,
