Disallow local datasource

Hello,

If I understand properly you wish for users to only have access to Hub Personal and Hub Business? Or do you want them to have access to DVLS and some other data sources as well?

We could add a policy to restrict to only the desired data source types. Please let me know what you think.

Thanks for the quick. For this use case we would only like to allow specific sources. The use case for my organization right now is only Devolution hub / business. It would be beneficial to toggle on / off other sources though if we're talking about a community standard.

Additional nice to have -
It would be nice to have a migration path if other sources are "disallowed" to migrate the dataset from the disapproved source to the allowed source.

We will open a ticket to create GPOs that will restrict the creation of data sources which are not of a specific type.

This will not hide any already created data sources. The users will be able to migrate from their existing data sources of the wrong type and then delete that data source.

Hello,

We've added GPOs to restrict adding and importing data sources and limit it to certain types.

The policy names are:

RestrictToHubBusinessDataSource
RestrictToHubPersonalDataSource
RestrictToDVLSDataSource

Each GPO restricts adding data sources to its type (removing all other available datasources). However, you can use a combination of the 3 in order to allow each of their GPO restricted types. Here are 2 examples to ensure the explanation is clear.

1. If you activate only the following policy: RestrictToHubBusinessDataSource
   1. Users will only be able to add Hub Business data source types.
2. If you activate both of the following policies: RestrictToHubBusinessDataSource & RestrictToHubPersonalDataSource
   1. Users will be able to add both Hub Business and Hub Personal data source types.

This should be available for 2024.3.16
