Hello
I saw in the Devolutions Academy and in the general documentation that you can set a password for Offline Security.
Unfortunately, I could not find what the enforced policy is for the password.
It would be great if a certain policy can be enforced and even better if one could require a user with the privilege of Offline Mode that a form of authentication can be used (for example Windows Hello).
Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
Nick
Hello Nick,
Thank you for reaching out!
I reviewed our group policy documentation and consulted with the Remote Desktop Manager team to confirm my findings. We currently do not have a policy to enforce the use of passwords or another authentication method with offline security specifically. However, we have the following general security policies that may suit your needs:
%Root%\SOFTWARE\Policies\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\ForceApplicationMFA: Force multi-factor authentication on the application login%Root%\SOFTWARE\Policies\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\ForceLocalApplicationPassword: Force the local application password%Root%\SOFTWARE\Policies\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\ForceLogin: Force the user to always be prompted for their credentials when launching the application%Root%\SOFTWARE\Policies\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\ForceWindowsCredentialsAndCurrentlyLoggedOnUsernameAndDomain: Use Windows credentials as the application password and force the currently logged on username and domain (unless an application password is already set)%Root%\SOFTWARE\Policies\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager\ForceWindowsHello: Force Windows Hello authentication on the application login
I hope this information will help you. For further assistance, I recommend you write directly on the Remote Desktop Manager forum or email our support team at service@devolutions.net.

Hi
Thank you.
The goal I was trying to achieve is to enforce as a company policy to the users that have offline access that their local cache has additional encryption via the authentication.
At this moment it seems that it would not be possible.
Kind regards,
Nick
Hello,
I have submitted a feature request on your behalf in the dedicated thread for such requests on the Remote Desktop Manager Forum: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/43016/encryption-via-authentication-for-offline-access. Feel free to add information to the thread if need be. I also recommend to turn notifications on to get updated on the feature request progress.
