Unable to connect to host / ERRCONNECT_CONNECT_FAILED (0x00000006)

Im currently running 2024.3.4.3 and have been having this issue since a couple of versions back I think? It might be related to a update of macOS (currently running Sequoia 15.0)?

The issue I'm struggeling with is that I can't connect to hosts within the same VLAN/Subnet that I'm currently on but traversing subnets and connecting to hosts works without any issues. So if I connect to the hosts giving me issues from another subnet I have no issues at all (I can provide logs of this).

I have no problems using Microsoft Remote Desktop to the same hosts that gives me the error "ERRCONNECT_CONNECT_FAILED (0x00000006)".

Hello

Sorry to hear about this problem.

Sometimes the error reported in the UI is not that helpful; RDM Mac will try to fallback on older RDP security mechanisms in the case NLA fails and so we might be seeing the error from that, rather than the "real" error.

The best thing you can do is enable session logging as described here. Once you reproduce the issue, send me the log by a PM or to service@devolutions.net (mentioning this forum thread).

If something isn't clear or you have further questions, please don't hesitate to post back in the meantime

Thanks and kind regards,

Hello again

Thanks for sending the logs. My feeling is that this is indeed related to the macOS Sequoia update. Can you check that RDM has "Local Network Access" permission in System Settings?

Please let me know if something isn't clear or you have further questions

Kind regards,
