clipboard and new connections problems

clipboard and new connections problems

avatar

Hello!

I accidentaly posted this in the IOS forum before, but i'm having a weird problem.

I recently downloaded this to try it out, but i'm suspecting im missing something? There is no option to add a new session. I can quick connect, but if i want to save it i have to create it in another program and then import it. That dosnt sound right? What i mean is that under the "new entry" options, there is no option for "new connection".

Same with clipboard. From what i can gather, you are supposed to be able to copy / paste betwen the host and the RDP session. But again, there is no clipboard option. I've reinstalled it multiple times but i guess the features just dont excist? Or am i doing somethign wrong that i cant seem to find an aswer to?

I'm running version 2024.2.7.4 for macbook.

Hi,

You should be able to add connections to a datasource. When you download Remote Desktop Manager, you should follow the startup wizard.
Which datasource mode did you choose: local or online?

Here is how it should look and how to add an entry on a fresh install:

Hi,

Could you verify that your user has the following User interface profile: "IT professional"?
To do so, select the last icon in the navigation bar in the bottom left corner of the app, as shown in my screenshot.
Then, change the User interface profile to IT Professional.

Let me know if this fixed it for you.

Hi,

The clipboard in the RDP session is enabled by default, so you should be able to copy and paste between your Mac and the RDP session, and vice versa.
If you're connecting to a Windows machine, you may need to use Ctrl + C instead of Cmd + C for copying.

You can acces all of the RDP settings for your session by clicking Properties:

In the settings go to Local resources and make sure that Clipboard is enabled.

By default the clipboard should work but if I misunderstood your issue or the issue persists don't hesitate to contact us.

Best regads,

Hello,

Yes my settings are the same as yours in the screenshot. If i copy from my local machine i'm not able to paste it in the remote desktop. If i right click "paste" is also grayed out like it dosnt have anything to paste. This goes both ways.

Hello,

Some testing will be necessary on our side to see what is the issue since we don't seem to be reproducing on our side.
I will see with our RDP team if they have any ideas of what might be causing this.

Hello

Further to what my colleague wrote, this doesn't sound normal - what would be helpful is if you can enable session logging, reproduce the issue (connect to a server and try some copy-paste actions on both client and server) and then send the log file in to us.

You can send that file directly to me by PM or to service@devolutions.net (mentioning this forum thread so the email is routed properly).

Please don't hesitate if you have other questions or comments

Kind regards,
