clear cache menu/button for web sessions?

avatar

hi,

can we please (finally) get a way to clear the cache of web sessions (Edge webview2)? With complex applications we quite often get asked to clear the cache before bothering support and right now this takes 2 minutes with going into properties, setting the check

reloading, relogin. going AGAIN into the properties, removing the checkmark, relogin again..

this would be solved so quickly with a menu entry or a button or whatever.. THANKS!

Hello,

We could add a button in the context menu of the opened tab. Would this work for you?

This would require a full close of the entry afterwards to make sure the cache is properly cleared.

As I don't have tabs on top, is this the same menu? (and how is it that yours is so nicely short an mine is a menu explosion gone wrong?! :D )

Hello,

Those are two different menus. We could add it to this more complete context menu as well if this would work for you.

For reference, the one you're showing in the Tab Groups pane is the same as the one in the navigation pane, which is meant to be more complete, while the other one I've shown has actions more specific to the currently opened tab.

Hello,

We've added a new Clear cache on close button to all 3 menus specified previously in this post. This button will be available on opened website entries using MSEDGE and Chrome.

For the main view/tab group context menu, this will be located in the same section as Focus/Close/etc. For the Tab page, this will be located under the Special commands actions.
You can expect these changes to take effect for the next 2024.3 version.
