Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to add an option to fit window or fit session like in VMware Console ?

Hello,

What entry would you want this option for? And how exactly does it behave in VMWare console? I would like to make sure I understand the behavior you're looking to have in RDM.

Hello,

Unfortunately, I haven't found any video about this.

Imagine you have a session with the resolution 1600x900 and the main window have 2560x1440.
In this situation, you will have empty space around the RDP session.
The "Fit Window Now" function of VMware Console will resize the main window so no empty space will remain.

If RDM left navigation pane is 250px wide and the borders are 2px, when the "fit window" function is used, the main window width will be resized to 1854px. For the height same calculation but with the top and the bottom this time.

Not sure if I am clear about this

Hello,

Did you try out the Display settings in your RDP entry?

In your case, I believe the "Smart Reconnect" mode should help make sure the RDP window will take the available size in RDM, and it will perform this smart reconnect action when the available size changes.

Hello,

I am aware about resizing or reconnecting the session.
What I am looking for is to resize the main RDM window and not the opened session.
This why my sessions recording are easier to setup.

Currently, I am using Sizer 4.0 by Brian Apps to resize my windows, including RDM.
I have a 32" 4K display and most of the time my RDM windows isn't fullscreen.
But when I switch to my laptop, I need a different setup.

A "fit main window to session" function will help me to manage this natively by RDM and I think that could be useful.

Hello,

Thank you for the explanation, I was misunderstanding your scenario, as I thought you wanted the remote connection to be resized, not RDM itself.

We've received a similar request to this in the thread here, but I will redirect you specifically to this message from my colleague Richard. This is not a simple change on our end, but we will note your interest for this and be on the lookout for further feedback to help us prioritize this.

Hello,

Thank you, I did search for similar request but I didn't realize this was there.

I will continue to use my "custom" solution for now then.
