Hi,
Hope I post in the right forum, if I didn't I'm sorry for this.
I have been ask to update password on an 100 or so linux servers (RHEL 7 and 8 mostly) and find a way to store them on RDM.
The update part can be done easily via Ansible but for the storing one, I'm not sure how to proceed.
Do anyone have any suggestion / idea ?
** BTW: I'm working with RDM version 2023.1.23.0 and do not have administrative rights.
Cheers,
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,
Do you know which type of data source you are using in RDM?
If you have the permission to "Add" entries in RDM you could create "Useranem/Password (Credentials)" type entries, If the workstations are already stored in RDM are you looking to update the credentials?
I'm also wondering if all the workstations will be using the same password?
Let me know,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Hi Samuel,
From what I could gather it seems that some credentials already exist, but I doubt that all of them do.
I guess both steps (creating / updating) will need to be perform.
** The best thing would be different password on each host, but I'm not that hopeful ;)

Hello,
Thank you for your reply,
I see, to save you some time for existing entries that will use the same password, you can use the Batch Edit feature to modify them:
https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/commands/edit/batch/batch-edit/
I'm afraid for the rest it will be a manual task, let me know if you have further questions regarding this or need additional assistance,
Best regards,
