Hello all!
I'm deploying RDM 2024.1.25.0 to some machines with SCCM and I want to automatically assign a license to those who use the app.
To do this I create a RemoteDesktopManager.cfg file in C:\Program Files\Devolutions\Remote Desktop Manager (the installation path of the app) with the license in it. I got the value for the cfg file from the RemoteDesktopManager.cfg in %LocalAppData%\Devolutions\RemoteDesktopManager after adding the license to a new RDM install.
When a user starts RDM the RemoteDesktopManager.cfg file is copied to their LocalAppData, but the license doesn't seem to register properly. RDM still says it's the free version and the license doesn't show up in "Administration > Licenses". When I try to add the license manually, the cfg file doesn't seem to change at all.
Am I doing it wrong? Is there another way to automatically add the license?
Thank you :)
Hello,
Unfortunately, the method you are trying to use to automatically assign licenses through a local .cfg file is no longer supported.
For automated license distribution and management, I recommend using an advanced data source such as SQL Server or Devolutions Server.
If you need further assistance setting up your advanced data source you can use this link to our documentations https://docs.devolutions.net/rdm/data-sources/data-sources-types/advanced-data-sources/
Best regards,
