Newbie question: With Remote Desktop Manager can two users access the same computer
Hi,
I have a Windows 10 machine, and would like two remote desktop users to be able to access the machine at the same time. (Windows Server, for example allows two users to access the computer) Will Remote Desktop Manager allow me to achieve this?
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,
I'm assuming you are using RDP is that correct? If you're currently able to have multiple connections to the same workstation outside RDM, then the same would be possible inside RDM.
In your RDP entry Properties under the "Advanced" section you can find the "Allow Open multiple connections" option, you may need to enable the "Show all Properties" option in the bottom left corner of the entry Properties to see the advanced section.
Let me know if this helps,
Best regards,
Samuel Dery
Thank you Samuel for your answer.
My use case is to have two remote users accessing the same computer concurrently and I was thinking RDP.
As the OS is the pro version and not the server I am limited to one RDP session.
Hello Chrisbonn,
Thank you for the additional information. Unfortunately, the Windows operating system version limits the ability to have multiple RDP sessions compared to the Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) itself.
Since you are using Windows 10 Pro, this version supports only one RDP session at a time. To have multiple concurrent sessions, a Windows Server edition would be required, as it naturally supports this feature. RDM can assist in managing your connections more efficiently, but it cannot override the inherent limitations the OS sets.
So, because it only works for one user at a time outside of RDM, it will be the same within RDM. RDM doesn't control this. If it doesn't work in MSTSC, it won't work in RDM either.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
Best regards,
Maxim Robert
