Hello,
It seems that the various Hyper-V type entries in RDM dont entirely work with clusters. For example:
Would it be possible for RDM to be 'cluster aware' for these type of entries?
Perhaps part of the solution may be having an RDM entry type specifically for Clusters, that can cater to multi-node functionality.
Thanks
Joe
Hello Joe,
Thanks for the request, we have a similarly logged feature request asking us to support Hyper-V Clusters, I will add the details of your request.
Paul
sounds good, thanks Paul
Hi Joe,
Support for Windows Failover Clusters has been added to the Hyper-V dashboard in RDM 2025.2. If you connect to any of the nodes in the cluster, RDM will automatically show the VMs on the other nodes, provided that each node has WinRM enabled. Starting an RDP session to a VM will also go through the correct node.
The Hyper-V synchronizer however does not yet support clusters, I suggest opening a separate feature request for that.
Cheers!
Philippe
Hi Philippe,
Thanks for the update on this. I tested the dashboard out with RDM 2023.3.16, and it does show the VM's running on each cluster node. However there appears to be duplication of the VM's running on the primary cluster node, as they are listed under both the cluster name and primary member. For example if the cluster is called C1, and has 2 hosts H1 & H2, and VM called V1 is running on H1, then there are 2 instances of V1 in the list of VM's in the dashboard.
C1
VM1
H1
VM1
H2
VM2
Pls let me know if you would like any additional info.
Joe
Thanks for the feedback, I see what the issue is. I've opened a bug report for it and plan to fix it soon.
Cheers!
