android external display(hdmi screen)

Good afternoon
I'm trying to connect from a Huawei Matepad Air tablet (Harmony OS). I connect the monitor to the tablet via the display port. The image is displayed on an external display, not on the tablet. I just can’t manage the connection, the bluetooth mouse and keyboard only work on the tablet, I can’t manage the RDP session, what should I do?

Hello,

When you connected the tablet to the external monitor, was the image displayed on both the monitor and the tablet (in mirror mode) outside of RDM? Also, did RDM prompt you to choose which monitor you wanted the session to be displayed on?

Good afternoon Yes, the monitor is connected in mirror mode. RDM suggested showing the connection either on the tablet or only on the external monitor, I chose only on the external monitor, but I cannot control it.

Hello,

Right now, because the screen is set to mirror mode, it's not feasible to redirect inputs to an external display. Android views the phone's screen as the primary one, hence all inputs are processed there.

We plan to explore potential solutions in the near future and have created a ticket for this issue.

However, there are some methods to accomplish what you're aiming for. If your device supports using the display in extended mode instead of mirror mode, it should work. If not supported by default, you can enable desktop mode in Android's developer options. This setting allows the external display to function in an extended configuration.
