Copying a session entry

avatar

Hi,

There does not appear to a way to make a copy of an existing entry or to use an existing entry as the basis for creating a new entry. For example, I have an SSH session to a particular host through a jump box. I would like to create several similar sessions that the only difference is the targeted host. In the ideal world I would do something like copy the existing session and edit it to change the session name and the targeted host, leave everything else the same and save it. Another way would be during the create entry process to be able to select an existing entry as a template for the new entry.

Is any of the above possible and if it is not I’d like to recommend it as a feature to add.

Cheers,
Merlin.

Hi Merlin,

In the meantime, you might consider using the export and import functions as a workaround for your issue.
If the type of data source you're using supports exporting, you can easily export your session and import it as many times as necessary.

For exporting, you'll find it in the entry menu, and it's crucial to include the credentials.

For importing, look in the vault menu, and just ensure that the IDs are changed during the import process.
