Hi!
Is it possible to just make a copy of our existing RDM-SQL database (backup and restore with new name - in SQL management studio) for testing e.g. database upgrade to 2024-version and so on? Or are there any considerations? Do you have any experiences with that?
We've just done it and so far no issues. MFA is the same as for the 'original' database. Private Vault is there, admin rights too ...

Thank you for contacting the Devolutions support team.

I'm still working on your issue related to the MFA related to the database.
This can be related to the configuration file from before 2022.3.

If you are looking to do a test environment, you can do exactly as you said.

  • It is to do a backup of your main database.
  • Create a new database in SQL.
  • And revert the backup to the new one.
  • In RDM, you will be able to connect to the new data base


Everything should be there, even the MFA.
