odd behavior when using macros/script/tools computer management

avatar

Hello, since we moved from 2022.3.35 to 2023.3.39 using rightclick tools macros/script/tools > computer management, there is a cmd runas window asking for password though the connections has linked credentials.
once i used the mentioned steps and open the file explorer, i have smb access to the targeted machine. so there is an authentication. but the runas window pops up every time i want remote tools to connect to a machine.
in settings of the RDP session, tools have the option to use session credentials. i also tried to set the credentials directly into the rdp session.
this behavior happens on non domain clients. even on sessions that are not online.

using the same credentials in a file session in rdm works fine

please take a look into this "bug"

Hello,

We have opened an internal ticket and will investigate to see what we can do.

Hello,

Out of curiosity, could you please try setting the Tools credentials to "Use default credentials"? In earlier versions of RDM, we weren't sending any credentials to the MMC process, so it was always using the defaults. In 2022, we added the possibility to use credentials from RDM, but the password cannot be sent through command line. This is why you're seeing a runas window.

Looking forward to hearing about your results.

Hi,

i tried the option you suggested. when i open computer management from tools i get an access denied error. i guess default credentails are those i am logged in with (windows session?) ?
i switched back to "use session credentials". let me note that the remote tools work fine. where is the difference between event viewer in tools section an remote event viewer in the remote tools section?
