Hello,
Could you let me know what version you use exactly? We generate the overview html in a temporary location. Perhaps the application is unable to write the updated html. Could you verify if you get anything in Help->Profiler

I will let you know about the profiler output when the error occurs.
About the version it happens to me from some time and many many versions. I was always thinking that it is some way of frustrating tell user to update RDM to newest version :/

There is the output of the profiler. I click diferent entities and only the title changes. If you click documentation and switch between entities the documentation switch, the overview doesn`t switch.

Could you verify the content of %temp%\RDM and verify if the .html get updated or locked by another process?

There is no .html file in this folder. There were meny files with .html extensions, some pdf. i also deleted the folder %temp%\RDM and the freeze of overview content was still occuring.
I reseted RDM and after reset i have a folder HtmlAssets and two files 1b9317e1-b5a4-444d-9984-21f58875b607.htm and 8af151d3-738f-4ef4-a672-a483f73051d6.htm in the %temp%\RDM folder

Hello,

Would it be possible to arrange a remote session? This would allow you to show us the problem directly, and we could record it.

Please let us know if you are interested.

Best regards,

Carl Marien

avatar

Hello,

I have created a case and provided a link for you to request a remote session.

Hello przwir,

Thank you for the remote session. During the session, we recreated the scenario and found that the problem is caused by a long period of activity in RDM.

Closing and reopening RDM resolves the issue.

Carl Marien

Sadly two days and the problem returns. Workaround works but it is not a solution of the problem in my opinion.

Indeed,
it's not what we want either. We have a major update coming in two weeks. We have updated RDM to .NET 8 and also update the webview component. We could verify if the issue persist and if it's does, I will personally do a session with you. I will also add some debug information if needed.

Sadly the problem still occures in the new net8 version.

avatar

Hello,
I will try to add a setting to configure a different temp destination and perhaps you could try to change it. I really don't know why this is happening for you.

@ova-computer,

Are you using the free edition?

Is it possible to try the latest version, which is 2024.2.20.0? You can download the latest release via this link https://devolutions.net/remote-desktop-manager/home/download/
