Inheritance not working when parent is Asset

I'm trying to better manage my assets at my company by way of tying asset history into RDM. Part of this is making Assets in RDM and then sub entries of that asset for remote connections, like RDP, SSH, File Explorer and Remote Powershell, among others.

When I have the "Host" field filled out in the Asset, and select "Inherit" in the host field of each connection type under that Asset parent, the connection is not made to that host.

Am I missing something with the inherit option of the "Host" in connection types?
