Request for 'Find by name (User Vault)' Functionality

Dear Devolutions Team,

We would greatly appreciate it if you could consider modifying the functionality of the "Find by name (User Vault)" feature.

At present, it appears that the search operates on a "starts with" basis. We propose changing this to a "contains" condition, as this would enable us to more effectively search for usernames that include specific expressions occurring within or at the end of the username.

Our systems are categorized into different categories, and for each category, the admins have distinct user credentials.
For instance, the usernames we need to search for typically follow this pattern:

  • name.C0
  • name.C1
  • name.C2
  • name.C3
  • ...

Here, the 'name' portion is unique for each user.

In the connection entry, we would like to be able to specify the category part of the username we are searching for.

Thank you for considering our request.

Best regards,
Christoph

Hello,
Do you think it could be interesting to support wildcard instead?

Hi,

It would be great to have wildcard support, such as '%.T1'."

Hello,

We've added support for the * and ? wildcards in the FindByName (User Vault). This should be available for the next 2024 version.
