Hi there,
trying to add a new entry of type "Dell iDRAC" and seems that I can't manage to connect to the virtual console (that works perfectly through the web page). I simply enter the IP of the iDRAC and the credentials, buy RDM try to connect to localhost (127.0.0.1):
I selected the "VNC over WebSockets" as I'm trying to connect to a iDRAC 9 with 7.00.60.00 firmware.
Any help?
Thanks.

Hello Nicola
Can you try changing the port in the iDrac connection entry from the default to the port you use to access the iDrac web interface (probably 443 if you're using SSL).
Please let me know if something isn't clear or you have other questions.
Thanks and kind regards,

Changed. Certificate acceptance is show but, when I accept it, the same error appears.
Hi Nicola
Ok, sorry to hear that.
Can you try the following:
You can send to me by PM or use the "Send trace to support" button (please mention this thread in the message so it gets routed properly).

Sent.
Take care that I'm using a SonicWall NetExtender SSLVPN connection to the server site.
Hi Nicola
Thanks for sending it.
What credentials do you have configured for the connection? You should use the username and password you use to login to the iDRAC management website.

Well,
I solved double-checking the credentials as you suggested. There is something weird during entry editing, I will need to open another case because happened other times: when I have an entry opened, and I edit it, RDM doesn't save it even if no error or something is raised. Is it something that you already considered?
Anyway, specifying 443 as port seems to be mandatory.
Many thanks.
Hi Nicola
Well, good news. Thank you for the feedback.
In RDM there's no way to have multiple default ports; but here the port number is closely tied to the connection mode (native DRAC and VNC typically want 5900; VNC-over-websockets wants the management port (typically but not always 443). I appreciate that it's confusing and I'm looking for ways to make this easier.

Yes, you should raise a separate forum post or support ticket for this. It's not something I've seen but I'm not part of the RDM Windows team. A separate issue will get the proper people to look at it for you. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I suggest to make 443 the default one if "websockets" is selected. It's surely more common than other settings.
Thanks for help.
