Hi,
i didn't use rdm for ssh in the last months. Today i connected to a server and noticed that the server locale was set to my native language. This would be wrong so I tried to reconfigure the server for 30 minutes - it was impossible.
Then i switched to putty where the server did have the correct language.
Then i did some further testing with RDM:
Reinstalling
Reset Language
Checking the RDM config
Strange behaviour:
Everything in RDM is English but after clicking on the connection, for the certificate password popup RDM switches to German (even the searchbars). After entering the password RDM switches back to English.
RDM is set to English, Windows is set to German and the server has Debian 12 installed.
All the best
Hello,
Could you please attempt to replicate the issue using a portable version of Remote Desktop Manager (RDM)? Here's how you can do this:
This approach will assist us in determining if the issue is specific to your local installation of RDM.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Hi,
thanks for the quick response, the portable version behaves exactly like the installed version.
All the best
Hello,
Thank you for your swift reply!
I took the liberty of opening a support case on your behalf for us to request a recording of this behavior.
We will update the thread once a solution is found to inform our community.

Hello,
I wanted to inform you that we have successfully reproduced the issue and have subsequently created an internal ticket for the development team to investigate.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Is this problem solved? I have the same issue.. When starting an SSH session the server "seems" to be in my local language instead of just keeping to English !!
Hello,
I have requested an update from the developer and will keep you informed about their response.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
Oh man, as @notavailable said, it took me over an hour to realize that this issue comes from RDM.
Is a workaround possible until the fix is published?
Best regards,
Tobi

Found a workaround in another thread: https://forum.devolutions.net/topics/40085/ssh-default-locale-linux-server-is-changed-to-enus#180345
Disable set environment in the SSH entry > Properties > General > Advanced > Skip environment variable setup

Hello,
Thank you for sharing the workaround. I will let you know when the fix is implemented.
Best regards,
Carl Marien
