Setting default monitor

Hi there

I'm using RDM version 2023.3.33.0 and I'm trying to set RDM to launch on a particular monitor but I'm unable to see a setting for this. In the Types --> General Settings, I can only see External Monitor and Undocked Monitor. I'm pretty sure on the older versions there used to be a 'Default Monitor' setting. Am I missing something here?

Thanks for reaching out about your issue!

Unfortunately, in RDM, no options exist to specify which monitor your RDM opens. But, if you drag your RDM to the monitor where you want to use it, when you close it, the next time that you open RDM, it should open in the last place you used it.

I have tried that but still, RDM defaults back to my primary monitor.

If yes, uncheck that option. And let us know if the problem still occurs.

The setting "Disable layout restoration" is unchecked in my RDM settings.

  • Are you using a VM station?
  • Do you have multiple screens?
  • Does your screen setup change regularly?
  • Any other information or screenshots you believe might be relevant.
