SSH Session Passphrase Keeps Reprompting - SSH Key Agent does not work with update

avatar

An unusual behavior start happening after recent updates of Remote Desktop Manager.

Existing SSH Session records still work fine when authenticating with a private key and having SSH Key Agent running and authenticated.

However, creating new SSH Sessions with private key authentications does not work as expected anymore. It keeps re-prompting for a Private Key passphrase no matter what, even though SSH Key Agent is running.

Hello,

Have you compared the working SSH Shell connections and the new SSH connections in RDM to validate if the configuration is the same ?

Best regards,

Hello.

I seem to have the same issue using 2025.1.34 in LAB and 2024.3.31 in PROD.
In both I set to use "My personal SSH key".
My personal SSH key is configured and setup to be loaded into the agent.
The SSH key agent is automatically started up at application start.
When stop and restarting the SSH key agent, I get the passphrase prompt (without name), which is expected.
After that, I use the connection, it asks for the passphrase again.

Cheers.
Marcel

We have an internal case related to this issue. The development team will begin working on a fix soon.

I will follow up with you as soon as a fix is deployed in a future update.
