Switch to free version

What do I need to know to switch from the licensed version to the free version of RDM ? Do I just install the current free version over top of the licensed version ? Are all of my current folders and objects retained ?

Hi,

Just go in the licences section and delete the key, RDM will fallback to the free mode.

Thats only if

  1. you use a data source supported by the free edition (mysql, xml, hub personal)
  2. for versions that are fairly recent

if you were using other data sources and had created Vaults, you will need to migrate the data

Thanks Maurice,

My current licensed installation is version 2020.3.13.0.

The database appears to be SQLlite (file ends in .db)

What are my options to migrate my configuration to the current free version? fwiw, the entries are primarily rdp, vmrc and web browser.

SQLite datasources are available in the free version, I'm sure Maurice meant to write SQLite but wrote mysql instead. The current version of RDM should detect your existing configuration but as you are on a slightly old version I recommend exporting your datasource content to a .rdm before updating. If needed you can simply create a new SQLite datasource and import your data.
