Hello Devolutions Team,
We are using Remote Desktop Manager connected to the Passwordstate API and we would need to see more details by searching through Password entries with Remote Desktop Manager in Passwordstate. We have defined Generic Fields inside of our Passwordstate Passwordlists with the Name "System" and it would be nice if it would be possible to see this Generic Field also by Searching through Remote Desktop Manager. This should be quite easy to implement this through the Passwordstate API.
Generic Fields in Passwordstate
How it looks by searching with RDM, you see 3 different Passwords for different Systems but without the column Generic Field "System" there is no difference to recognize.
Best reards,
Marcel

Hello,
Thank you for the request.
I'm wondering how best to implement this. Do you think it would be alright with you if you had to configure in the entry which columns are visible / searchable when prompted? The reason I'm thinking of implementing it this way is because I wouldn't want users who store sensitive values in those generic fields to have it be shown to everyone using the credential entry.

Hubert Mireault
Hello Hubert Mireault,
Thanks for your fast response.
I can only answer this for our company, we don't save any sensitive values in these generic fields.
My opinion is that there should not be stored any sensitive data in the Passwordstate generic fields.
In Passwordstate are separate fields for sensitive values like OTP, Password, Username, and Notes.
regards,
Marcel
Thanks for the feedback. I also agree, but we often want to err on the side of safety for such situations, it's surprising how people use fields in creative ways (and this goes for RDM as well).
I have opened a ticket and we will discuss this internally as well as perform our own tests on Passwordstate to see how best to implement this.

Hubert Mireault
Hello Hubert Mireault,
Just for your information, I already have created an incident on the Devolutions side.
00044231: Feature Request RDM with Passwordstate
They told me to raise a poste here :-D
best regards,
Marcel
Thanks Marcel, I've added this information to our internal ticket for this request in case we need information that you already gave us in this support case.
We appreciate you taking the time to post your request on the forum (and very well described, too!), it allows our community to chime in which helps us improve the original idea or prioritize it if we see there's a lot of traction.
Regards,
Hubert Mireault
