Hi, i am using RDM 2023.3.8.0 on macOS Sonora (newly installed).
I cannot connect to any Windows Server via RDP - getting error "ERROR SILENT: failed to initialize RDP client"
I can however successfully connect when I change "Activate Sandboxing" to NO - but this is not recommended...
Am I doing something wrong or do we see a bug here ?
thanks, regards,
Bernhard
Hi,
This is weird. I'm guessing the external process for the RDP session is failing to launch. As a first step, could you try to simply launch the external process directly from the Terminal? To do so, and assuming your application is installed in the default Application directory, you can simply execute the following command:
open "/Applications/Remote Desktop Manager.app/Contents/Frameworks/FreeRDPSandboxed.app/Contents/MacOS/FreeRDPSandboxed"
Please, do post back the output from the command.

Not the OP, but having the same issue. Here is the output of the command you asked for:
/Applications/Remote\ Desktop\ Manager.app/Contents/Frameworks/FreeRDPSandboxed.app/Contents/MacOS/FreeRDPSandboxed ; exit; -bash: /Applications/Remote Desktop Manager.app/Contents/Frameworks/FreeRDPSandboxed.app/Contents/MacOS/FreeRDPSandboxed: Bad CPU type in executable logout Saving session... ...copying shared history... ...saving history...truncating history files... ...completed. [Process completed]
Oh! There seems to be an issue with the FreeRDPSandboxed executable, it should be built for universal CPU (i.e. x86 and ARM). I'll fix this. I believe this might solve this issue.
