Hello, is it safe to delete it? Have the problem when updating via script that the path length of the cache an it subdirs exceed the max. path length. So I would like to delete if before hand if it is not necessary/will be newly created if missing.

Thank you for contacting us regarding this,
I performed a test and it seems the folder and all of it's contents are recreated.
So I don't believe it will pose any issues to delete it.
With that said, perhaps backing it up before removing it entirely, in case it does cause issues for you personally, would be beneficial.

Hello, additional question: Would it be possible to integrate a function into RDM that it could be selected that with closing RDM the cache would be deleted?

Hello,
A "Clear cache on close" checkbox has been implemented in File → Settings → Application → Application Close for both Chrome and Microsoft Edge. This feature is currently available in the latest version.
