Hello Charles,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter.
By using the external display in RDP, the RDP session used the RDP of Windows instead of RDM.
Could you tell me if this issue occurs if you are using only MSTSC?
Best regards,
Patrick Ouimet
When I use Microsoft's RDP to login in with a single display it prompts me for my password and works perfectly fine.
With playing with with this problem a little more. every so often it will open an RDP session, but it feels random and not twice in a row.
Thanks,
Hello Charles,
Thank you for this feedback.
Could you tell me if you have the same result if you import your .rdp in RDM?
Could you tell me if you are using an advanced data sources and if any other users have this issue in RDM?
Best regards,
Patrick Ouimet
I imported a working RDP file. and that does not work once it is imported.
I am not sure what you mean by advanced data sources. I only have one use on this computer and it is a standard install
Thanks,

I was able to load Remote desktop manager on a different computer. Exported my connections and inported them on the new install and it worked fine. I uninstalled on my computer and reinstalled RDM and imported my connections and it does not work. I am begining to think my version of Microsoft Remote Desktop is having a problem.
Still looking for a solution to this.
Hello Charles,
Thank you for this feedback.
Could you tell me if this error occurs with FreeRDP in the RDM entry properties?
The version could be changed under properties -> General -> Advanced -> RDP Version -> RDP (freeRDP)
Best regards,
Patrick Ouimet
I do not have FreeRDP loaded on my system. but i did try different RDP version setting and nothing worked.
I unloaded windows update KB5029351 and it started working. I reloaded the update and it stopped working. So it is defiantly the Updated.
Thank you for this test.
It is nice to know that this update can cause this issue.
I will keep that in mind for the next RDP issue.
Best regards,
Patrick Ouimet
