Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,

I have a few questions which you can hopefully answer.

  • Which version of RDM are you using?
  • Which type of data source are you using?

That being said, from quickly looking at the Xshell entry "Properties" it seems to be started externally using command lines. I'm wondering if using the "Shared Session" and pointing to the "Shared config folder" may work for you in this case?

Could you give this a try and let me know,

Best regards,

Samuel Dery , thanks for the quick reply :

background info :
RDM Version = 2023.2.22.0 64-bit
Data source = local data source .

"I'm wondering if using the "Shared Session" and pointing to the "Shared config folder" may work for you in this case? "

  • When using this method through RDM , it appears that RDM just opens up another program ( in this case Xshell). Unfortunately , with that Xshell session you really can't run macros/scripts that have been created in RDM on an separate instance of Xshell ( even though RDM's opened up an seperate Xshell session) .
  • There is a risky workaround for this, which takes into account that you can execute said macro via the " execute in previous window " feature . HOWEVER, if you clicked in a different active window ( be it notepad, a web browser, etc ) that macro/script will run in that window and not in Xshell : ( IE open RDM, then run Xshell, then click off of Xshell to say an open window of notepad , then run said macro in " execute in previous window " which in this case means that the macro that you're running is typed out and/or run on notepad.exe )

Is there a way to integrate Xshell for RDM so that any scripts/ macros created in RDM can run on an Xshell instance ?

If not then , is there a way to force the usage of Xagent for authentication ?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply,

That is correct, from my understanding, RDM is simply using commands line to launch this application,

I'm wondering if there is a specific reason why you're not using the SSH Shell entry type in this case?

Let me know,

Best regards,
