Linked Account (Integrated Security and Database Login)

Linked Account (Integrated Security and Database Login)

Hello,

We are using Integrated Security (Active Directory) with Microsoft SQL Server for the Login into RDM. We would also like to use the RDM App, but the app has no AD Support, so we would need to either migrate all our users to Database Login, or create another user alongside the AD User, which consumes double the Licenses.

Is it possible to Link these two Accounts to one (completely with User Private Vault)? Or is there a future implementation of AD for the App?

Kind regards,
Haris

With v2023.2 you can link accounts but this doesn't allow you to share the user vault. They are two distinct accounts that count 1 towards licensing. Useful for situations where you have first_last@company.com & _firstlast@company.com for example.

As for enabling integrated authentication on other platforms (iOS, Android) we are limited with what the framework enables us to do and at this time it is not possible.

Hi Stefane,

I know already about the linked accounts, but I am more asking about the opportunity to link a database login and AD account together including the Private Vault. Is it possible to implement something like that in the future?

Do you have any news about future plans for the framework, e.g. enableing AD sign in via app?

Kind regards,
Haris

Hi Haris,

At this time we don't have it on our list of things to do (short or long term).

As for future plans for the framework, we are completely dependent on Microsoft, if they implement the library we will do what we need to get it working in our apps.
