Smart card directly attached to target system is not recognized through RDM
Greetings!
I am new to RDM and wanting to use it to front end access to my lab environment. On my lab workstation, I have a usb attached smart card. When I am directly connected to the lab workstation (local monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.), I can run certutil -scinfo and it reads and returns expected information about the smart card. However, when I am connected via RDM, it get an error message stating the "smart card resource manager is not running" - basically, it does not recognize the smart card. I have tried this with the "Smart cards" and "Other supported Plug and Play (PnP) devices" options enabled and disabled with the same result. Connectivity is fine when I am directly connected to the lab workstation.
This is a rather time sensitive issue.
I am probably missing something. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting us regarding this,
You mentioned being ne to RDM, however just to be certain I'd like to know what version number of RDM you currently have installed, I'd also appreciate knowing what your data source type is in RDM. If you don't know your data source, you can find this information under File > Data Sources.
Secondly I'd like to know if the RDP session's display is being run as "Embedded" or "External" as the error could mean different things depending on that.
If the RDP session is set to "Embedded" could you attempt to see if switching to "External" changes the results or gives us further details ?
Best regards,
