How to have a list of favorite command, to run in ssh

avatar

Hi,

i don't understand how to have a fast and easy way to run in ssh, some command, with a few click.
For example, i run sometimes in my ssh session, apt-get update and apt-get upgrade, to avoid every time to write them, there is a way , with simple click, like right click and a menu with thrse commands that i can edit, and run into ssh ?

Thanks for reading

Hello Robertus,

Thank you for contacting us on that matter.

You could use the Typing Macro entry in Remote Desktop Manager to send multiple information into your SSH sessions.

This Macro will be available in all your session tabs/macros and need only one click to input the information you had preset.

1- Create a Typing Macro entry.

2- Set your entry to any Macro you want to input in your sessions.

3- Launch your sessions and select the macro tab -> click on the Macro icon -> The Macro will be sent directly into your sessions.

Let me know if this is what you are looking for.

Hello Robertus,

Thank you for your swift reply!

An alternative would be to use the "SSH Broadcast" feature to send the same command into many connections at once. To use this feature, please consult this link: https://docs.devolutions.net/kb/remote-desktop-manager/how-to-articles/setup-ssh-tunnel/rdm-broadcast-action-ssh/

Let us know if it better suits your needs or if you require further assistance.

Hello,
By the way , I like the idea to improve the quick access to some pre-configured command in the SSH console. I have created an improvement for that.

Hello Robert,

We have been contact by the engineering department to let us know that this feature already exist.
It could be found under Macro in your entry properties.
By using this feature, the macro shortcut will appear at the top of your session window
