Unable to blank physical screen

Unable to blank physical screen

avatar

Hello, apologies if I've missed it, but I've read the documentation, the forums, and googled and how to blank the physical screen both for security and to save battery life, but I seem to be unable to. Is that right? Connecting to MacOS using ADP..

Thanks!

Hello

Are you running Remote Desktop Manager on a Mac as well?

Apple Remote Desktop has a "curtain mode" feature that will provide privacy (although not energy saving, as it displays a lock message). It's toggled in RDM by pressing [Option]+[Shift]+L.

That said, the feature is not very discoverable - we stopped fleshing it out as we found it unreliable on certain systems. Our implementation is based on reverse engineering the ARD protocol (it's not an open protocol) so there may be a mistake there. I have a ticket open already to continue refining this.

Can you try it in your environment and let me know if it works?

Thanks and kind regards,

Great support in another thread made me realize I forgot about this post. I'm connecting from Windows. I see the "lock screen" option in the GUI which performs somewhat similarly to what you described. Is that as close as we can get?

Thanks!

Hello

Assuming you're talking about RDM Windows, yes the "Lock Screen" button is what I was talking about.

Let me know if you have some problems or questions

Kind regards,

Got it, thanks. Is there a Windows keyboard shortcut similar to [Option]+[Shift]+L?

Hello

I'm afraid not, but we could make a feature request to add something.

Thanks and kind regards,
