RDM copy entries

avatar

First a question, is RDM slower responding than before??? or is it just me?

Second, is it possible to make a copy of a website entry, but in such a way that if I adjust entry 1, it would also adjust the data in entry 2 ?
I would like to make a folder containing all Office365 logins, but also make a folder per customer with the same entry in it.
But if I would create just a duplicate and the password changes, I would have to change this on the both or more entries....
I would like to avoid this.

Hello,

The slowness of the application maybe related to multiple factors.

What RDM version are you using and what data source type are you connected to?

The following article provides information to improve performance on startup of the application.
https://docs.devolutions.net/kb/remote-desktop-manager/troubleshooting-articles/startup-performance/

This article provides some hints to improve the performance.

Let us know if any of the instructions help.

"2023.1.28.0 64-bit"

Datasource is a remote MariaDB
Also recently added Bitwarden as vault, but this is only used for 2 or 3 entries. Still working on that.

It is especially slow when opening a RDP session, it takes like 10 seconds or so before it responds...

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

As MariaDB is now a deprecated data source as you can notice on the following article, it's maybe a reason why you're experiencing slowness when opening RPD entries.
https://blog.devolutions.net/2022/02/news-deprecation-of-support-announcement-for-mysql-and-mariadb-data-sources-in-remote-desktop-manager/

Here is the article to help you migrating to another supported data source.

Maybe.

Ans the second question?

Hello Nick,

I suspect your Username / Password are stored directly in the Website entry?

Just tried it with "custom" credentials and adding it to the username field and in the htmlcontrolid putting: loginfmt and that works.

But I also have bitwarden as credentialsvault. But then it just takes a loginusername from any portal.office.com entry from bitwarden :(

Hello Nick,

in your case the Linked (Vault) credential entry make more sense. You can have multiple Website entries linked to the same Credential entry.

Means, if you change the password in the linked credential entry, it reflects on all session entries.

More information about you'll find here.
