Different SQL Databases vs different vaults?

Different SQL Databases vs different vaults?

avatar

Hello,

we consider to create different vaults, not only because we have about 7500 objects so far in our vault and Devolutions already suggested, to create multiple vaults, but also to split things for security reasons.

Now my question is: Does it make sense in any therms, to create multiple SQL instances/databases instead of multiple vaults regarding performance?

Best regards,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

If you have multiple databases, you will need to manage users and perform database upgrades for each of the data sources. In my opinion, using a single database with multiple Vaults would be a more efficient solution and save you some trouble.

I also believe that simply having the entries split into multiple vaults would resolve issues with performance.

Please let me know if this helps or if you have any further questions.
