Hi
I have the following macro:
$USERNAME${TAB}$PASSWORD${ENTER}
The macro is working, but the password starts with a capital letter and contains an exclamation mark and most of the times when the macro is executed the first character isn't typed in capital and the exclemation mark is typed as a 1
Datasource: DVLS Version 2023.1.4.0
RDM 2023.1.23.0 64-bit
If I change $PASSWORD$ to $MACRO_PASSWORD$ it seams to work better, but I did experience the first letter not being capital.
Entry is in my User Vault.
Entry's credentials setting is Inheriet.
Parent's is a regular folder with credentials setting set to "Linked (User Vault)"

Hi Lars,
Thank you for reaching out on that matter.
I am unable to reproduce this behaviour on our test environment. The password that is set in the Credential entry starts with a capital letter and contains one exclamation mark.
Which entry is located in your user vault? Is it the Credential entry, the Typing Macro or the session?
Would it be possible for you to share some screen captures of your setup? Ensure to hide any sensitive information.

Hi
I wanted to retest this with a password similarly to my own that I could send you to test with.
I reused one of my Website entries but created a new credential entry.
I setup the macro, activated "Allow password in variable" for the entry and set it to use "Linked (User vault)" and chose the new credential.
With this setup I sometimes got PASSWORD and sometimes got $PASSWORD$ - to test I the changed the credential to be Inherited and the macro typed my password but again with non-capital letter as the first.
I then looked to see if there were an "Allow password in variable" on the and saw that there were I then activated this setting and the pseudo password were written.
My original PW entries do not have "Allow password in variable" activated on the credential entry itself but anyway works.
I activated the setting on my original credentials and tried the macro on an open tab and it worked with capital starting letter. I then closed the tab and opened it again, and it went back to non-capital start letter.
But you can test with: NHJUNE.5468!asdf
This gives me the nHJUNE.5468!asdf when written by the macro.
I tested a bit more. If I remove the "Allow password in variable" from the credential entry opens the website entry, Then set the "Allow passwords in variables" again (Without closing the website tab) and then executes the typing macro it writes my password correctly.

Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
First of all, when you edit an entry while it's tab is still opened, then the modification made on it should not be applied until its tab is closed. But as you made the modification on the credential entry and not the web entry, then I presume this works.
About your problem, I still cannot reproduce it. It would be easier for us to investigate this issue if you can send us a recording of the problem or if we can organize a support session.
For sending us the recording, please use the secure link below to send us the requested file(s). Please name your file as follows so that it can be easily identified F-39340.
