1Password Vault Security with RDM

1Password Vault Security with RDM

avatar

I'm currently evaluating RDM with 3rd party vault integration, specifically with 1Password. I was able to get SSH Sessions working using 1Password stored credentials, which is great, but I realized that in order for RDM to access 1Password stored creds, RDM requires both the password and secret key for the 1Password vault. The secret key is a major component of securing the 1Password vault and I'm curious to know, does RDM ever share or store the 1Password vault credentials or secret key anywhere other than on the local machine? I'm just concerned about exposing those 1Password vault credential components and want to be sure that RDM doesn't store, proxy, or otherwise share 1Password vault components with any remote system.
