Hi,
when logged in as a custom user (User type "User"), I'm unable to see certain type of subentries, i.e. RDP sessions that use the priviledged user or vault-linked users. Permissions should be good, though (under "My Permissions" all entries are checked for the host object). Other subentries like notes, passwords and even RDP sessions (using inherited credentials) are visible.
When I switch the user to user type "Admin", the entries are visible. So I assume this to be a permission issue, but as far as I see all permissions are granted to the user.
Any ideas what I could have missed?
Thanks in advance,
Stefan
Hello Stefan,
The issue is most likely permissions. As an admin, if you verify the permissions of the entries that are not visible as the user, do they have at least the View and the connect (execute) permissions?
Could you please confirm what version of RDM you are using, as well as the type of data source?
The simplest would be to export an entry with the sub entries as a .rdm file, making sure there is no confidential information, and send it to service@devolutions.net

Hi Richard,
got it solved and it was a permission issue:
I use templates to create the RDP sessions as subentries. The template in question got custom permissions instead of inherited. I struggled upon the fact that once you create a subentry from that template the permissions option isn't visible anymore in the properties window. So I assumed they automatically inherit permissions from their parent object. Turns out this assumption is wrong and you're still able to edit subentry permissions if you use contextmenu->edit->permissions.
Best regards,
Stefan
Hello Stefan,
Glad you were able to resolve the issue! Let us know if you have any other issues with the permissions.
