RDP Connection from LINUX Laptop to WINDOWS Server(s)

avatar

Trying to get a Fullscreen RDP Connection on my laptop.

NOTE THIS IS A LINUX DESKTOP CONNECTING TO A WINDOWS RDP SESSION

I've tried all sorts of combinations, internal, tabbed, smart sizing, full screen, current monitor, primary display, but nothing seem to give me a full screen RDP Session on my laptop when I connect to a remote windows Server.

Any ideas, hints, tips or setting combinations would be very welcome.

For those who are curious, I am running the latest version of RDP Manager on a ASUS Laptop running the latest version of 64bit Bodhi Linux. It's my travel computer in case I need to access work stuff when I'm not at home on my regular PC.

Thanks in advance...

Hello Scratch,

I just tested our fullscreen options right now and it seems like we have some issues related to that. I opened a ticket to fix these issues.

As a workaround, you can do the following steps to get you RDP session fullscreen:

  1. Set the Display setting to "Embedded (tabbed)"
  2. Set the Screen sizing mode to "Dynamic resolution"
  3. Open the session and drag your RDP tab out of the embedded place
  4. It should become an undocked window and then maximize this window

Please, let us know if that workaround works for you.

That seems to have done the trick, Not 'Full Screen' per se, but it's a lot better then being docked. Thank you for the tip.

Hopefully a fix won't be too long :)

Hi dclark,

A true full-screen mode will soon be available in our next version.

To activate it, go to your RDP connection's display settings and set "Remote desktop size" to "Full screen". Alternatively, right-click on the connection tab once it's open, then go to "Settings" and check "Full screen".
