Same user, separate clients, webUI shows all 1000+ connections on a browser from the server, and a client in the same subnet. When outside the subnet on a workstation or the VPN it authorizes the DB Connection so I am connected, with either the UPN or SAM syntax, but when retrieving any entry we get the titled error.

What am I missing? Couldn't find that log entry on the forums, assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hello,

Could you post a screenshot of the error message?

This occurs on the web interface of Devolutions Server right?

Best regards,

Hello,

It seems that RDM 2023.1.16.0 which should be online soon resolve this issue, However, you would need to upgrade your Devolutions Server to the latest version as well.

Are you planning to upgrade your Devolutions Server soon?

Do you need help with the upgrade? We can schedule a remote session with my team. Let me know.

Best regards,

We were not planning on it unless this is the only fix to the issue. After more testing if the user is granted the administrator role they are allowed access to all credentials and allowed to remote into the server. Most of the logs point to a VSS security policy.

Is the only fix at this time upgrading?

Hello,

You could try to disable the registry key that is mentionned in the KB topic you link to see if it helps.

Also, to see if the issue is resolved with the latest version of RDM, you can create a portable installation, with a local data source, and see if this issue still occurs. To do so, you will need to do the following:

1- Download the .zip file below:
https://remotedesktopmanager.com/home/thankyou/rdmbin
2- Create a new folder on your Desktop
3- Extract the content of the .zip file into the folder created at #2
4- Go to this folder once the .zip file has been extracted and run remotedesktopmanager.exe
5- Try to connect to the remote server, you can use the quick connect bar at the top, or copy an entry.

Unfortunately we are still seeing the behavior after the test above. The only temp fix I have found is to change the user type to Administrator on the server admin console.

Hello,

Could you confirm if all the affected entries have information in the documentation tab? The handbook refers to the documentation.

Would it be possible to do a staging environment and verify if the issue occurs with the latest Devolutions Server? https://docs.devolutions.net/kb/devolutions-server/how-to-articles/create-server-staging-instance/
