Maestro Password Safe passwords in Password Safe [Offline] (Application) OR locally cached in RDM
Hi again,
and again another question on passwordhandling.
Situation:
As mentioned in another thread "we" are not allowed to use keepass at work. We use Maestro Password Safe. And we are only allowed to store passwords there...
(GDPR makes things more secure but also more complicated :-D )
With the findings of another thread in this forum I managed to connect the PasswordSafe.
I did it in two different ways creating credential entries in my user vault:
1) "direct" credential entry
2) "listed" credential entry
Then, in new RDM-connections I can select
"Credentials: Find by name (user vault): PasswordSafeServer1"
or
"Credentials: Find by name (user vault): PasswordSafeEntryList"
This works as long as you are inhouse and have access to the PasswordSafe-Server.
BUT
Some of my colleagues are in the field service - without having access to the server.
We have an internal regulation that prohibits saving passwords in other locations than Maestro Password Safe, even in RDM.
Password Safe has a local application called PasswordSafe [offline] that caches passwords for a defined periode of time locally.
Questions:
So, is there a possibility to
1) create credential-entries pointing to the local PasswordSafe-App (and not the PasswordSafe-Server)
2) (although prohibited at the moment) to make passwords from the PasswordSafe available offline in RDM (perhaps only cached for a limited time)
Thanks again.
Hello
1) Create credential-entries pointing to the local PasswordSafe-App (and not the PasswordSafe-Server)
It doesn't seem possible to do so with the current integration
2) (although prohibited at the moment) to make passwords from the PasswordSafe available offline in RDM (perhaps only cached for a limited time)
We do have the offline mode for Remote Desktop Manager for the whole database (Read only or read-write) but we do not have an option specifically for PasswordSafe
