Release notes: Removed organisation support with Sql Server and Devolutions Organization

Hi
I'm looking at the release notes for 2023.1.10 and saw this:

  • BREAKING CHANGES Removed organisation support with Sql Server and Devolutions Organization

I'm not sure what this is about but get a little nervous as we run our RDM from an Azure hosted SQL database. I have tried searching for this but haven't found out what feature that has been removed.

Hello,

I apologize for any confusion that may have arisen during our conversation. To clarify, the feature we were discussing is a relatively obscure one that involves linking a SQL Server data source to our Devolutions Hub (Devolutions Organisation). This feature is primarily used to forward approval requests through our system.
I hope this clears up any misunderstandings, and please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Best regards,

David Hervieux

Thank you, David, no more worries from my side :-)

Hi Anders,
To give a bit more context, the feature in question made it possible to send email notifications when temporary access requests where created and approved with a SQL Server data source. According to our stats this feature was not actively used so we don't expect any client to be affected by the removal.

Temporary access requests still work as they previously did in RDM and email notifications are still available with Hub and DVLS.

Hope that clears up any confusion, don't hesitate if you have any questions.

I was wondering the same thing, what this phrase meant exactly! I too had a shiver going down my spine the first time I read it 😅.
