Devolutions web log in extension

Hello,

We utilize RDM and plan on deploying the web log in extension. I have a few questions and feel free to send me some literature on the subject, I was unable to find documents on it.

If a user adds a password to a website within the tool, does it only store locally? will it attempt to store on the central datasource?

when deploying the tool, does it use the same security token as RDM?

if the user primarily uses the centralized data source by default, will it also pull passwords from their local datasource?

Hello,

Here are the answer to your questions.

1- If DWL is connected to DVLS, then it will store the credentials of a website on the DVLS instance in the selected vault and folder.

2- Regarding the security token, DWL uses its own token. It will not use the same RDM token.

3- Finally, DWL will pull the password from DVLS and the local data source only if DWL is connected to DVLS and RDM. Otherwise it will pull the password only from the connected application.

Most of our users do not have rights to add passwords to DVLS, how will this impact their experience in DWL plug in? Is the Devolutions web log in folder something unique to each user?

Hello,

Thank you for your feedback.

If you want them to save their own credentials in DVLS, they need to save them in My User Vault, no matter what is the destination folder. The User Vault is unique to each user.
