Inherit HTTP proxy settings

avatar

I'm trying for a while now and I can't get it to work:

It's possible to have proxy settings for webpages or ssh entries. A configuration like this is working for me:

My goal is to have a folder that inherits those proxy settings to all containing entries.

I tired to do it with a Proxy Tunnel Session, but it seems that compared to the single entry proxy settings local host and remote hosts are mandatory.

I tried to play around with $HOST$ but couldn't get it to work. Is it somehow possible to inherit those simple proxy settings? Just HTTP, hostname + port.

Thanks!

Hello,

Sadly it's not possible to set the Proxy settings at the folder level and use inheritance.

The attempt to use the Proxy Tunnel will work. You can put anything in the Local host and Remote host fields as this won't be used for your use case.

Let us know if that works as expected.

Hello, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately this doesn't work. Local- and remote host information is used when I tried it with http proxy

Thank you! :)

Hello, I'm really desparate for this feature request. For every host I add I have to enter the http proxy manually although it could be sooooo easy if this could be done here on a folder level.

Maybe HTTP proxies aren't used that much anymore, but I'd really, really appreciate if this was a feature of RDM.

(is there maybe a workaround I'm not aware of)?

Hello,

  1. Could you try to create a Proxy entry:

2. In your entry, try to link it:

Hello,
This is indeed the kind of feature that we add into RDM. We already have a ticket but I will raise the priority

Hello,
This is now implemented internally and it will be included in RDM 2024.1

Hi David, thanks for the update back then. Do you know if the implementation got delayed? Or am I missing a new setting somewhere?

Hello,
It's implemented but maybe not where you think it is:
