KeePass entry format to use {Domain} and/or {Email} in the username format?

avatar

I'd like to set up a single KeePass entry with my domain credentials. Sometimes I need to enter them as domain\user and sometimes I need to enter them as "user@fqdn" (same as email). The Advanced section of an RDM KeePass entry has a Username format dropdown that references a small set of variables for a variety of username formats, but what do I need to do in my KeePass entry for RDM to be able to use them? Domain and Email are not standard KeePass fields.

Thanks.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this,

I have a few questions which you can hopefully answer.

  • Which version of RDM are you using?
  • Which type of data source are you using?

That being said, you're encountering this issue when attempting to use your credentials for an RDP session is that correct? If so, I'm wondering if going into your entry "Properties" under the "Advanced" section and changing the "Username format" would be what you're looking for?

To see this section you will need to enable the "Advanced Mode" in the bottom left corner of your entry "Properties".

Let me know,

Best regards,

I have not explained myself well.

What do I do in KeePass so that RDM has values for domain and email in a KeePass credentials entry?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply,

From my understanding, you would simply have to fill in their respective fields Username/Password/Domain, are you still encountering a problem when attempting to use credentials from KeePass in RDM?

Let me know,
