Hello Liorcomp,
Thank you for contacting us on that matter.
1- Could you be more specific about the entry type and what you want to achieve with it?
My first answer will be yes if you have permission to view or reveal the password, it can be copied-paste.
However, if the password is hidden, it cannot be copied-pasted.
2- Unfortunately, the 2-way authentification factor entry is made to only view the opt password and cannot be prompted in an entry.
3- the quick search field can be set to search a type of entry too, Click on the three dots at the right of the search bar -> Field Options -> Include Type.
Best regards,
Patrick Ouimet
thank you
about the first, it's called exactly that "email account". i have all permissions. i have "copy email" field but no "copy password" for this type.
about the 2nd, thank you, ok
about the 3rd, i have type ticked, but still can't find the data inside. i can find the name of the sub-entry "custom" type, but no the data written into it.
Hello Liorcomp.
Thank you for the quick reply.
You could copy the password by clicking on View -> Select the password in the tab -> copy.
And you could set the search bar to look for sub-entry by selecting the three dots -> Search Options -> Include Sub Entries
Best regards

about the first. this i know, but it's a longer way. it would be nice if it was like credential records or rdp records
about the second, i have this marked. it finds the record of the "custom" type, but not the data written into it.
for example i would like to find this (highlighted in yellow) when i search
Thanks for the quick reply.
I think now i understand what you want to achieve with RDM.
Remote Desktop Manager already has a nice tool to be able to copy-paste the Username / Password, you could use the entry Credential entry -> Username / Password.
If you want to store the IP address in an entry and use the search bar, you could create a host entry with some alternate host.
Doing so you will be able to search by IP address and open the alternate host window to copy-paste the information you need.
The alternate host can be filled by name and email as well.
Just make sure to select the Field Option ( Include Alternate Host).

about the credential record. that's not the case. i do have copy user/pass in this kind of record. but i don't have it in email account type record.
about the alternative host, it's already marked. but still can't find data inside the alternative host. i can find the host itself, but not the data typed into it
Hello Liorcomp,
thank you for the swift reply.
For the Email Account entry, this option is not implemented in RDM right now, I will create a new post in the feature request forum for you.
The alternate host, here is a short video about how you can set your search bar and use the entry.
Best regards.

sorry, i think i didn't explain myself well
see attached
you can see that the custom record called "lab vlan" is a sub-entry. when i search something with "include alternative host" and "include sub-entry" - i can find this "lab vlan". but if you take a look inside the custom, i have some names and values there. like "location" and "floor 6". those i can't find in a search.
Hello Liorcomp,
Thanks for the screenshot, it help alot.
Instead of creating a custom entry, could you try it with a Host entry and enter all your value in the alternate host field?
Best regards,
Patrick Ouimet
the alternative host feature does not meet the need. it's only for host data. the custom type listing is much more flexible and feet the need perfectly. the only problem is that it's not searchable :)
